Cornwell Copse, Tilehurst ~ Woodland management and path clearance

Our first visit to Cornwell Copse in over two years where we were to protect the stools in a recent coppiced area from deer damage using the discarded brash and burning any brash which remained.

After coffee part of the group headed off along the path leading to Barefoots Copse which was becoming badly overgrown.

It wasn't long before a considerable impression had been made, before and after.

Back at Cornwell Copse the protection and burning were also making good progress .....

..... and a number of trees had been identified which if taken out would allow in more light assisting the coppiced area to regenerate.
