Decoy Heath, Silchester ~ Path clearance

The purpose was primarily to improve access for those surveying butterflies at this BBOWT reserve.

With the temperature at around 31°C this was not a task for the faint hearted.

A previously impenetrable path now cleared

Picnic site.

"We camped in a lovely picnic spot shaded by birch and willow where one of two White Admirals entertained us regularly and several Silver-washed Fritillaries were around too."

Despite the heat by the end of the task most of the path around the butterfly transect had been cleared.
