Kings Meadow ~ Willow harvest

Despite signs of spring there was a bitterly cold wind for our second session of the winter harvesting willow.

Although conditions were apparently reasonable last summer the growth of willow - at least at this site - had been poor and little remained to be harvested, so much so that by the time the photographer found his camera most had already been cut and was in the process of being bundled.

The remainder of the task was spent maintaining the beds including some new planting.

At lunch John gave details of the new tools transport .....

..... followed by more clearing.

By two o'clock we were in need of somewhere warmer so with the willow loaded we headed home.
