Maiden Erlegh Nature Reserve ~ Scrub clearance, Rushey Way pond

Herald Moth found during CROW's scrub clearance task at the Rushey Way pond.

Adult herald moths can be seen in flight from late July until November, and again from March until June after they emerge from hibernation. It is beleived that herald moths are so named because their reappearance at the end of winter heralded the arrival of spring.
