Padworth Common ~ Gorse clearance

An old barbed wire fence which had once marked the boundary of part of the north side of the Common had become lost amongst overgrown gorse. The presence of the rusting barbed wire prevented the use of a chain saw to clear the boundary so CROW's expertise with bowsaws and loppers was once again in demand.

With aged gorse up to six or more feet in height entwined with rusting wire, the task at first seemed daunting but by the end of the day everyone was amazed by the amount which had been achieved.

Our thanks as ever to all who helped.
