December 2019 ~ Paices Wood Country Park, Aldermaston ~ Rhododendron clearance

The last task of the year to which West Berkshire Countryside Society volunteers had been invited.

The task was focused on clearing and burning the rhododendron cut earlier in the year.

Not far from the work site a magnificent oak had recently fallen .....

..... in the process shattering adjacent trees.

The oak was not the only tree to have come down.

With Christmas just passed and New Year yet to come, the day had a suitably relaxed air.
