Controls
  • Activity will be undertaken in accordance with the risk assessment and procedures of the site manager.
  • The site manager will be responsibility for the operation of the sawmill.
  • Volunteers are to take no part in the operation of the sawmill.
  • Volunteers must not work in the immediate vicinity of the sawmill when it is in operation.
  • Always wear gloves when handing timber.
  • Wear safety glasses to protect eyes.
  • Take regular breaks to reduce risk of strains and other injuries caused by repetitive actions such as lifting, and to 'escape' noise, heat and dust from machinery.
