In October we started laying the hedge adjacent to Calder Close and were due to return next year to continue the task. Unfortunately a team from Reading Borough Council who were to clear an area where the hedge is very sparse in preparation for some additional planting, misunderstood the requirement and also cut down much of the hedge we were to lay leaving a considerable quantity of brash.
The brash.
Even trees in the area where the planting is planned, the remnants of previous attempts to thicken this section of the hedge, which could have been retained have been cleared.
We will now be returning to the site early than originally planned to 'tidying' what remains of the hedge and burn the brash.
