"Great work by everyone in the 'Amphibian Area' at Paices Wood where we took out trees and scrub to encourage growth of young sallows in this patch which is believed to be the breeding area for the local Purple Emperor population. Older sallows were taken out from the adjacent ride to let in light to encourage invertebrates which use the sunny bramble and short turf. So lots of good work done.
Wildlife seen Red Admiral, Speckled Wood, Large White, unknown ladybird, Southern Hawker Dragonfly, Marsh Tit, Buzzard and a frog. " John
