A relaxing summer task spending the morning cutting back holly and bracken which was overgrowing one of the woodland paths and using the holly to protect last winter's coppice stools where the regrowth was being nibbled by deer.
Moving holly to the coppice plot - possibly not the most enjoyable part of the task.
An after lunch stroll.
A pair of grass snakes one of which rapidly headed off whilst the other held its ground.
Another pair of grass snakes which also soon departed leaving the two slowworms to fend for themselves.
Japanese Knotweed - a find we would have sooner not made.
Not lost just positioning!
