It is not often that CROW undertakes a task punctuated by the howling of wolves but that is the situation we found ourselves in on our first visit to the Wolf Conservation Trust at Beenham.
We were to start laying a hedge which was to be continued at the weekend by volunteers from the Pang Valley group, as a public demonstration part of an Open Day being held by the Trust.
While the wolves showed some interest in our activities they were in no danager being well protected from us by their high compound fence.
CROW hopes to return to the site early in the New Year to continue work on the hedge.
