With a keen group of volunteers eager to get on with the task, it wasn't long before fire lighting skills were called upon to clear the rapidly growing piles of brash.

While the fire was kept busy throughout the day, logs and other usable materials such as stakes and binders for hedgelaying were set aside.

Homeward bound!
